I’m a sucker for a good old time rocking country band. So, I’m having a real good time enjoying the new singles from Birmingham, Alabama sextet The Banditos. Their new tunes are Here Tonight and On My Way. The band features three lead singers which gives them access to a lot of different sounds. But both these songs feature Mary Beth Richardson. The band has this great ability to blend country with horns and take you back to the seventies when country crossed over to mainstream radio all the time. I just love Richardson’s voice on these songs. She reminds me a little of Bobbie Gentry and Tanya Tucker, but with a little more kick and grit. She also has a little Dolly Parton quiver in her voice. Really Cool!
